Investment Projects with State Support in the Arctic Zone Approved

Six major investment projects will be implemented in the Arctic zone with the support from the Russian government. The corresponding Order No. 209-r dated February 1, 2021 was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

We are talking, in particular, about the creation of a mining and metallurgical plant in the Murmansk region, a specialized Tuloma deep-water terminal for transshipment of mineral fertilizers in the port of Murmansk, a plant for breeding of salmon and trout smolt in the Murmansk region and a project for the technical re-equipment of Vitino seaport and Belomorskaya oil tank farm.

The total investment in these projects is expected to exceed 200 billion rubles. Companies that implement them will be able to count on an irrevocable subsidy from the state in the amount of up to 20% of their investments.

The state support is available to the companies whose projects meet a number of conditions: cost of at least 300 million rubles; coverage of subsidies in the form of tax revenues for up to 10 years; creation of jobs by launching new industries or modernizing the existing ones.
